- 1/2 cup butter (if you prefer a non dairy product, use Soy Garden from Earth Balance)
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped Chives
Cut fresh chives using kitchen scissors. In a medium, non reactive bowl mash the chives and butter with a fork. Microwave for 30 sec to help infuse flavor. Allow to cool.
If you are using pats of butter for a recipe, place cooled butter on a sheet of waxed paper, spread to 1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. The odd bits can be put back in a small bowl, microwave for 30 sec to melt back into the shape of the bowl for easily spreadable butter.
